Understanding What Has Just Happened

Your assurance of salvation is of great consequence. When you are sure about you own salvation it will aid your spiritual growth and greatly enhance your Christian witness. Your assurance of salvation must not be based on feelings, but on faith in God’s word. 1 John 5:11-12 says, "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this live is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. If you have repented of your sins and invited Christ into your life, you can know for sure that you have eternal life.

Now that you have become a Christian, it imperative that you grow spiritually. You are beginning your new life as a babe in Christ. It is God’s design that every child of God would grow to spiritual maturity. He commands us to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
